A favourable tax framework
For companies subject to French taxation, acquiring original works by living artists may give rise to a tax deduction under Article 238 bis AB of the French General Tax Code: the acquisition price may be deducted from taxable profit, in equal instalments over five years, up to €20,000 or 5‰ of turnover where that amount is higher, subject to conditions (the work must be exhibited to the public or to employees, recorded in the accounts, and so on).
