In this work, Davide Ricchetti brings a classically inspired male figure into dialogue with a luminous abstract composition. The face and torso, modelled through contrasting turquoise blue, pink and coral tones, emerge from geometric fields and layered passages of colour.
A vertical division cuts through the face, setting the depth of the blues against the warmth of the pink hues. Around this sculptural figure, peach, lilac, mint green and orange create shifting effects of transparency and overlap. Precisely drawn features meet freely applied marks, while the body’s contours extend into, or dissolve within, the surrounding colour.
The square 100 × 100 cm format gives this encounter between sculptural heritage and contemporary painterly energy a commanding presence. The work will appeal to collectors drawn to fresh interpretations of classical imagery and the interplay between figuration and abstraction.
