With Basquiat Minion, Vincent Duchêne creates a vivid and irreverent encounter between popular culture and the raw energy of Neo-Expressionism. Rendered in white, red and black, the one-eyed figure becomes a three-dimensional surface covered with words, symbols, characters and spontaneous graphic marks that recall the visual language of Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The iconic crown, handwritten phrases and sketch-like figures give the sculpture the appearance of a street notebook transformed into an object. The large central eye creates a strong visual focal point, while the open arms, raised leg and off-balance stance bring theatrical movement and joyful energy to the composition.

Presented on a signed black base featuring a yellow crown, the work explores appropriation, iconography and the circulation of contemporary images. Positioned at the crossroads of pop art, urban art and contemporary sculpture, Basquiat Minion will appeal to collectors drawn to expressive, narrative pieces rich in cultural references.
