In this work, Davide Ricchetti combines the grace of a classically inspired female figure with the freedom of abstract composition. Her lowered gaze and hand resting against her chest convey a contemplative presence, while the flowing folds of her drapery guide the eye through the painting’s vertical format.

Luminous pinks and oranges interact with turquoise, deep blue and lilac. Passages of pale yellow and mint green cross the silhouette, revealing certain details while allowing others to merge with the surrounding ground. This interplay of emergence and dissolution creates a subtle contrast between the precision of the sculptural drawing and the spontaneity of the coloured marks.

Measuring 100 × 80 cm, the work balances delicacy with visual intensity. It will appeal to collectors drawn to the meeting of classical heritage and contemporary expression, and to figurative compositions that extend into abstraction.
